Find the optimal date for an acceptance speech

A thank you or acceptance speech should be made as soon as possible. After six months, the reason for the gratitude will have largely faded from others' memories. If it fits the timing, there's no reason not to incorporate a speech of gratitude as a part of a normal workday.

There's only one thing you should avoid: don't hold people up, or keep them from their own lives. That means, if you have to do it at the end of the business day, keep it brief!
